2. Place an oil pan under the oil drain plug.
3. Loosen the oil drain plug with a wrench and allow the oil to drain.
4. Once the oil has drained, replace the oil drain plug and tighten it securely.
5. Locate the oil filter on the side of the engine block near the top.
6. Use an oil filter wrench to loosen and remove the oil filter.
7. Apply a thin coat of new engine oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
8. Screw the new oil filter into place and tighten it securely.
9. Add new engine oil to the car through the oil filler cap. The amount of oil you need to add will depend on the engine size.
10. Check the oil level with the dipstick and ensure it is between the “full” and “add” marks.
