1. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
2. Open the hood of your car.
3. Locate the OBD-II port, which is usually found under the dashboard on the driver's side.
4. Connect an OBD-II scanner to the port.
5. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
