How do you remove driver side airbag rx8?

To remove the driver side airbag on an RX8, follow these steps:

1. Disconnect the battery. This is a crucial safety measure to prevent accidental airbag deployment. Locate the battery in your vehicle's engine bay and disconnect the negative (black) terminal using a wrench.

2. Remove the steering wheel. Turn the steering wheel so that the RX8 logo is facing up. You will see two holes on the back side of the steering wheel. Insert a small flat-head screwdriver into each of the holes and press down on the spring tabs. While pressing down on the tabs, pull the steering wheel towards you to detach it from the steering column. Be careful not to drop the steering wheel once it is detached.

3. Remove the airbag module cover. There are four screws that hold the airbag module cover in place. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove these screws and then lift the cover off.

4. Disconnect the airbag module connector. There is one connector that connects the airbag module to the vehicle's wiring. Press down on the locking tab on the connector and pull it apart to disconnect it.

5. Remove the airbag module. There are four screws that hold the airbag module in place. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove these screws and then lift the airbag module out of the dashboard. Be careful not to drop the airbag module.

6. Replace the steering wheel and reconnect the negative battery terminal. Reverse the steps you took in steps 2 and 1 to replace the steering wheel and reconnect the negative battery terminal.

Warning: Airbags can be dangerous if mishandled. If you are uncomfortable performing this procedure, it is best to consult a qualified mechanic for assistance.
