1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. This will prevent the airbag from deploying while you are working on the steering wheel.
2. Remove the airbag. There are two bolts on the back of the steering wheel that hold the airbag in place. Remove these bolts and carefully remove the airbag from the steering wheel.
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors. There are two electrical connectors on the back of the steering wheel. Disconnect these connectors.
4. Remove the steering wheel nut. The steering wheel nut is located in the center of the steering wheel. Use a socket wrench to loosen and remove this nut.
5. Pull the steering wheel off the steering shaft. Once the steering wheel nut is removed, you can pull the steering wheel off the steering shaft. Be careful not to drop the steering wheel.
6. Install the new steering wheel. To install the new steering wheel, simply reverse the steps that you took to remove the old steering wheel. Be sure to tighten the steering wheel nut securely.
7. Reconnect the electrical connectors. Reconnect the two electrical connectors on the back of the steering wheel.
8. Install the airbag. Carefully replace the airbag into the steering wheel and secure it with the two bolts.
9. Reconnect the negative battery terminal. Reconnect the negative battery terminal to restore power to the car.
