Why is tire rim rubbing against caliper?

Possible causes:

- Damaged rim. If the rim bent, even slightly, it can put in close proximity with the caliper, even if the size of the rim and the tire is appropriate for the car model and the rest of the setup.

- Incorrectly installed rim. If the rim is not seated correctly on the wheel hub or if the lug nuts are not tightened properly, it can cause the rim to shift out of alignment and make it contact the caliper.

- Tire too large. If the tire you installed is too large, it could potentially come in contact with the caliper.

- Worn wheel bearing. A worn wheel bearing can cause the wheel to wobble and lead to contact between the rim and caliper.

- Bent suspension components. If your suspension components are damaged and misaligned (usually due to impact damage), it can compromise wheel position as well as wheel alignment, causing the tire rim to rub against the caliper.
