When replacing brake pads how do you get the plunger back in?

Method 1

1. Use a C-clamp to compress the piston:

* Place a C-clamp parallel to the brake pad.

* Tighten the C-clamp until the piston is compressed.

2. Continue to tighten the C-clamp until the piston is fully seated in the caliper.

Method 2

1. Use a brake pad spreader to compress the piston:

* Place the brake pad spreader between the brake pads.

* Turn the screw on the brake pad spreader until the piston is compressed.

* Continue to turn the screw until the piston is fully seated in the caliper.

Tip: Apply grease to the caliper guide pins and brake pad backing plates to make the process easier.
