- A screwdriver
- A tachometer
- A pair of gloves
Instructions:
1. Start your engine and let it warm up to operating temperature.
2. Put on your gloves to protect your hands from the hot engine.
3. Locate the idle speed screw on the throttle body. It is usually located on the front of the throttle body and has a black plastic knob.
4. Turn the idle speed screw clockwise to increase the idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it.
5. Use the tachometer to measure the idle speed. The idle speed should be between 600 and 700 RPM.
6. Once the idle speed is set, turn the screw back until it stops to prevent it from coming loose.
Tips:
- If you are having trouble finding the idle speed screw, consult your vehicle's owner's manual.
- Be careful not to turn the idle speed screw too far in or out, as this can damage the throttle body.
