Buying an Infiniti Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) car or SUV is the ideal mix of affordability and the confidence only a factory-backed vehicle offers. These are gently used late-model Infiniti vehicles with a clean vehicle history report. For Infiniti to include them in its CPO program, they must pass a 167-point inspection by a factory-trained technician. Depending on the model year and accumulated mileage, Infiniti covers its CPO vehicles with one of three bumper-to-bumper limited warranties. Infiniti tosses in a few other benefits, as well, like 24-hour roadside assistance and basic scheduled maintenance for the first year.
First year’s basic scheduled maintenance is free; 24-hour roadside assistance
Somewhat confusing warranty structure; no loaner car once the original new-car warranty expires
Infiniti doesn’t certify just any used car or SUV. These are vehicles less than six years old with fewer than 70,000 miles on the odometer. They must have a clean vehicle history report. They must also pass a 167-point inspection by an Infiniti-trained technician. Any issues discovered during that inspection are fixed using Infiniti parts.
Although Infiniti certifies vehicles up to six years old with less than 70,000 accumulated miles, the sweet spot in regard to its CPO warranties are vehicles less than four years old with between 15,000 and 60,000 accumulated miles. These Infiniti-Certified vehicles come with total bumper-to-bumper limited warranty coverage of six years with unlimited miles. Infiniti calculates this from the original new-car purchase date. Vehicles less than four years old with fewer than 15,000 accumulated miles are covered by a 6-year or 75,000-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty. Infiniti also calculates this from the original new-car purchase date. Finally, those CPO Infiniti models older than four years with between 15,001 and 70,000 accumulated miles are covered with a 2-year or unlimited-mile bumper-to-bumper limited warranty from the purchase date of the CPO Infiniti.
Yes, the warranty structure is a bit confusing, but basically, all three CPO warranties are for two additional years. Infiniti tacks that 2-year coverage on to the end of the original 4-year or 60,000-mile new-car warranty. Or, if the CPO vehicle is older than four years and outside the original new-car warranty, the two years begins on the CPO purchase date. Infiniti doesn’t charge a deductible for covered repairs.
Other value-added Inifiniti-certified perks include 24-hour roadside assistance, free CarFax vehicle history report, free basic scheduled maintenance for the first year, 90-days free satellite-radio subscription, and available added-cost warranty plans.
