How do you change the spark plugs on a 2003 Honda Accord?

Tools and materials needed:

- Spark plug socket wrench

- Ratchet

- Extension bar

- Spark plug gap tool

- New spark plugs (NGK Iridium IX spark plugs are recommended)

Instructions:

1. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down completely.

2. Locate the spark plug wires. They are located on the top of the engine, near the front.

3. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket wrench to loosen the nuts that hold the wires in place. Pull the wires straight up to remove them.

4. Remove the old spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket wrench and the ratchet to loosen the spark plugs. Remove them carefully, taking care not to drop them.

5. Check the gap on the new spark plugs. Use the spark plug gap tool to measure the gap between the center electrode and the side electrode. The gap should be 0.044 inches. If necessary, adjust the gap by carefully bending the side electrode.

6. Install the new spark plugs. Screw the new spark plugs into the cylinder head by hand until they are snug. Then use the spark plug socket wrench and the ratchet to tighten them until they are snug.

7. Reconnect the spark plug wires. Push the wires firmly onto the spark plugs until they click into place.

8. Start the engine and check for proper operation.
