1. Park the engine on a level surface and engage the parking brake.
2. Remove any attachments or covers that may obstruct access to the fan belts.
3. Locate the fan belts. They are located at the front of the engine, near the top.
4. Inspect the fan belts for wear or damage. If any of the belts are cracked, frayed, or missing, they must be replaced.
5. If the belts are in good condition, you can adjust them by loosening the bolts that hold the belt tensioners in place.
6. Once the bolts are loose, you can use a pry bar or other tool to move the tensioners until the belts are snug but not too tight.
7. Once the belts are properly adjusted, tighten the bolts to secure the tensioners.
8. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Listen for any unusual noises or vibrations. If you hear any, turn off the engine and check the belts for proper adjustment.
9. If everything sounds and looks good, replace any covers or attachments that you removed in step 2.
