I have a 1987 cr500 cant kick start but pull starts?

Possible Solutions:

- Weak battery: Ensure that the battery is fully charged and in good condition. Replace the battery if necessary.

- Kick start linkage issue: Check the kick start linkage for any damage, particularly the pawl and the ratchet. Make sure that there are no blockages preventing the kick starter from engaging with the engine. Lubricate the linkage and ensure it moves freely.

- Compression issues: Check the compression of the engine. If compression is low, it can make it difficult or impossible to kick start the motorcycle. Perform a compression test to check compression and repair any issues if found.

- Faulty ignition: Inspect the spark plug for fouling, damage, or excessive wear and replace it if necessary. Check the ignition coil, wires and any sensors related to ignition.

- Fuel quality: Ensure you are using fresh fuel and the fuel system is free from any blockages. Check the carburetor for any issues, like clogging or improper adjustment, and clean or adjust it if needed.

- Starter clutch: The starter clutch may be worn out or damaged, preventing it from engaging properly. Check the starter clutch and replace it if necessary.
