How do you bleed the air from brake lines of 2007 Chevy Cobalt ss?

Materials Needed:

- Brake fluid

- Clear tubing

- Wrench

- Assistant

Steps:

1. Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine.

2. Locate the brake fluid reservoir. It is usually a clear plastic container with a black cap located in the engine bay.

3. Remove the cap from the brake fluid reservoir.

4. Fill the brake fluid reservoir to the "Full" line with fresh brake fluid.

5. Locate the bleeder screws on the brake calipers. There is one bleeder screw on each caliper and caliper has two bleeder screws. The rear driver side and passenger side only have one bleeder screw.

6. Attach one end of the clear tubing to the bleeder screw and the other end to a clear container. Make sure the container is lower than the bleeder screw.

7. Have your assistant slowly press down on the brake pedal and hold it down.

8. While your assistant is holding the brake pedal down, loosen the bleeder screw 1/4 turn. You will see brake fluid flow out of the bleeder screw.

9. Close the bleeder screw when your assistant releases the brake pedal.

10. Repeat steps 7-9 until no more bubbles are coming out of the bleeder screw.

11. Tighten the bleeder screw when no more bubbles are coming out.

12. Repeat steps 5-11 for each of the other brake calipers.

13. Once you have bled the brake lines, top off the brake fluid reservoir to the "Full" line.

14. Replace the cap on the brake fluid reservoir.

15. Test the brakes by applying the brake pedal. The pedal should feel firm and should not go all the way to the floor.

Tips:

- Use brake fluid that is specifically recommended for your vehicle.

- If you get brake fluid on your paint, wash it off immediately with water. Brake fluid can damage paint.
