Step-by-Step Guide:
1. Preparations
- Park your car on a level surface.
- Engage the parking brake.
- Turn off the engine and allow it to cool down.
- Locate the oil drain plug and the oil filter.
2. Drain Old Oil
- Place the oil drain pan beneath the oil drain plug.
- Use the wrench to loosen and remove the oil drain plug.
- Allow old oil to drain completely.
3. Replace Oil Filter
- Locate the oil filter. It is usually near the top of the engine.
- Use the wrench to loosen and remove the oil filter.
- Apply a thin coat of new oil to the gasket of the new oil filter.
- Screw on the new oil filter until it is snug.
4. Refill with New Oil
- Use the funnel to add new oil to the engine.
- Refer to your vehicle's owner manual for the correct amount of oil.
5. Check Oil Level
- Use the dipstick to check the oil level.
- The oil level should be between the "full" and "add" marks on the dipstick.
6. Start the Engine
- Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
- Check for any leaks around the oil drain plug and the oil filter.
7. Check Oil Level Again
- Turn off the engine.
- Wait a few minutes to let the oil settle down.
- Recheck the oil level using the dipstick.
- Adjust oil level if necessary.
