In order to unlock a seat belt retractor on a Volvo, you will need the following tools:
- A flathead screwdriver
- A pair of pliers
1. Locate the seat belt retractor.
2. Insert the flathead screwdriver into the slot on the side of the retractor.
3. Pry up on the screwdriver to release the locking mechanism.
4. Pull the seat belt out of the retractor using the pliers.
Additional Tips:
- If the retractor is stuck, you may need to use a hammer to tap on the screwdriver to release the locking mechanism.
- If possible, have someone help you by holding the seat belt while you release the locking mechanism.
- Be careful not to damage the seat belt or the retractor.
Once you have unlocked the seat belt retractor, you can thread the seat belt back through the retractor and use it normally.
