1. Prepare the window. Park the car in a safe location, and turn off the engine. Engage the parking brake. Open the door on the side with the broken window.
2. Remove the door panel. Lower the window as far as it will go. Use a pry tool to carefully remove the door panel from the door frame, starting at the bottom. Disconnect any electrical connectors that are attached to the door panel.
3. Locate the window regulator. Once the door panel is removed, you will be able to see the window regulator. It is a metal assembly that is attached to the door frame.
4. Remove the window regulator. Disconnect the electrical connector that is attached to the window regulator. Use a wrench to loosen the bolts that hold the window regulator in place. Carefully remove the window regulator from the door frame.
5. Inspect the window regulator. Look for any damage to the window regulator, such as broken gears or stripped teeth. If the window regulator is damaged, it will need to be replaced.
6. Replace the window regulator. If the window regulator is not damaged, you can simply reinstall it by reversing the steps that you took to remove it.
7. Reinstall the door panel. Once the window regulator is installed, you can reinstall the door panel by reversing the steps that you took to remove it.
8. Test the window. Once the door panel is installed, test the window to make sure that it is working properly.
