Instructions:
1. Prepare the vehicle. Park the vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake. If the car is cold, let it warm up for a few minutes to circulate the oil.
2. Locate the oil drain plug. The oil drain plug is located on the bottom of the oil pan. It is typically a 17mm bolt.
3. Place the oil drain pan under the oil drain plug. Make sure the pan is large enough to catch all of the oil that will drain out.
4. Loosen the oil drain plug. Use the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket to loosen the oil drain plug. Be careful not to drop the bolt into the oil pan.
5. Allow the oil to drain. Allow all of the oil to drain out of the oil pan. This may take a few minutes.
6. Remove the oil filter. Use the oil filter wrench to remove the oil filter. Be careful not to spill any oil.
7. Remove the oil pump. The oil pump is located on the front of the engine. It is held in place by four bolts. Use the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket to remove the bolts.
8. Remove the oil pump gasket. The oil pump gasket is located between the oil pump and the engine block. Use a pry tool to carefully remove the gasket.
9. Install the new oil pump gasket. Place the new oil pump gasket on the engine block. Make sure that the gasket is properly seated.
10. Install the new oil pump. Place the new oil pump on the engine block. Align the bolts holes and thread in the bolts. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.
11. Install the new oil filter. Apply a thin coat of oil to the gasket of the new oil filter. Screw the oil filter onto the oil filter housing. Tighten the oil filter until it is snug.
12. Replace the oil drain plug. Replace the oil drain plug and tighten it to the specified torque.
13. Add oil to the engine. Use the funnel to add oil to the engine. Add the amount of oil specified in the owner's manual.
14. Start the engine and check for leaks. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for oil leaks around the oil pump and oil filter. If you see any leaks, tighten the oil pump and/or oil filter until the leak stops.
