How do you replace the headlights in a 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage?

Replacing the headlights in a 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage is a straightforward task that can be completed in about 15 minutes. Below are the steps involved:

1. Gather your tools and materials.

- Replacement headlights

- Phillips head screwdriver

- Socket wrench set

2. Locate the headlight mounting screws.

- Open the hood of your Mirage and locate the headlight mounting screws.

- There are two screws located on the top of the headlight housing and one on the bottom.

3. Remove the mounting screws.

- Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the two screws on the top of the headlight housing.

- Then use a socket wrench to remove the bolt on the bottom of the housing.

4. Remove the headlight housing.

- Once all three mounting screws have been removed, gently pry the headlight housing from the car.

- Be careful not to drop the headlight housing.

5. Disconnect the electrical connector.

- There is an electrical connector attached to the back of the headlight housing.

- Disconnect this connector by pressing the release tab and pulling it apart.

6. Remove the old headlight bulb.

- Turn the headlight bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the housing.

7. Install the new headlight bulb.

- Insert the new headlight bulb into the housing and turn it clockwise to secure it.

8. Reconnect the electrical connector.

- Reconnect the electrical connector by pressing the release tab and pushing it together.

9. Reinstall the headlight housing.

- Gently insert the headlight housing into the car and secure it with the three mounting screws.

10. Close the hood.

- Close the hood of your Mirage and enjoy your new headlights!
