1. Open the rear hatch.
2. Remove the two plastic covers on the inside of the hatch. These covers are located near the top of the hatch, on either side of the license plate. To remove them, pry them off with a flat-head screwdriver.
3. Remove the two bolts that hold the hatch struts in place. These bolts are located at the top of the hatch, on either side of the hatch struts. To remove them, use a 10mm wrench.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector for the rear hatch release button. This connector is located on the driver's side of the hatch, near the bottom. To disconnect it, simply press the release button and pull the connector apart.
5. Remove the four bolts that hold the hatch lock in place. These bolts are located on the inside of the hatch, around the hatch lock. To remove them, use a 10mm wrench.
6. Remove the hatch lock. Once the bolts are removed, you can remove the hatch lock by simply pulling it out.
7. Remove the two bolts that hold the hatch weather stripping in place. These bolts are located at the bottom of the hatch, on either side of the hatch opening. To remove them, use a 10mm wrench.
8. Remove the hatch weather stripping. Once the bolts are removed, you can remove the hatch weather stripping by simply pulling it off.
9. Remove the hatch glass. To remove the hatch glass, you will need to use a suction cup to lift it up. Once it is lifted up, you can disconnect the electrical connector for the defroster and remove the hatch glass.
10. Remove the hatch frame. To remove the hatch frame, you will need to remove the four bolts that hold it in place. These bolts are located at the top of the hatch frame, on either side of the hatch opening. To remove them, use a 10mm wrench.
11. Once the bolts are removed, you can remove the hatch frame by simply pulling it off.
Now that the rear hatch is disassembled, you can repair or replace any damaged parts. To reassemble the rear hatch, simply follow these steps in reverse order.
