How do i replace spark plugs on 1998 Isuzu Rodeo?

Tools Needed:

- Spark plug socket (5/8-inch)

- Ratchet

- Spark plug gap gauge

- New spark plugs (NGK BKR5E-11 or equivalent)

Instructions:

1. Remove the spark plug wires. The spark plug wires are located on the top of the engine. They are held in place by a small rubber boot. To remove a spark plug wire, simply pull on the boot until it comes off.

2. Remove the old spark plugs. Use the spark plug socket and ratchet to loosen and remove the old spark plugs. Be careful not to drop the old spark plugs into the engine.

3. Gap the new spark plugs. The spark plugs must be gapped correctly in order to function properly. Use the spark plug gap gauge to measure the gap between the center electrode and the ground electrode. The gap should be .044 inches. If the gap is too small, carefully bend the ground electrode outward. If the gap is too large, carefully bend the ground electrode inward.

4. Install the new spark plugs. Screw the new spark plugs into the engine by hand until they are finger-tight. Then, use the spark plug socket and ratchet to tighten the spark plugs until they are snug.

5. Reconnect the spark plug wires. Push the spark plug wires onto the new spark plugs until they snap into place.

6. Start the engine and test. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for any leaks or strange noises. If everything seems fine, you're finished!
