1. Prepare your vehicle:
- Park your Pathfinder on a level surface, apply the parking brake, and turn off the engine.
- Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Locate the starter:
- The starter is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment, near the bottom.
3. Disconnect the wiring:
- Disconnect the electrical connections from the starter. There should be two wires, one large and one small.
4. Remove the mounting bolts:
- Remove the two bolts that hold the starter in place.
5. Remove the starter:
- Once the bolts are removed, you can carefully remove the starter from the vehicle.
6. Inspect the starter:
- Inspect the starter for any signs of damage or wear, and replace it if necessary.
7. Install the new starter:
- Place the new starter in position, and secure it with the mounting bolts.
8. Reconnect the wiring:
- Reconnect the electrical connections to the starter.
9. Connect the battery:
- Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
10. Test the starter:
- Once everything is connected, start the engine to make sure the starter is working properly.
