How do you change brake pads on a Chevrolet impala?

Tools Needed:

- Floor jack

- Jack stands

- C-clamp

- Brake piston rewind tool

- Caliper spreader

- Brake cleaner

Instructions:

1. Park your car on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

2. Loosen the lug nuts on the wheel that you are working on.

3. Raise your car using a floor jack and place jack stands under the car for support.

4. Remove the lug nuts and take off the wheel.

5. Use a C-clamp to compress the brake piston into the caliper.

6. Use a caliper spreader to spread the caliper open enough to remove the old brake pads.

7. Clean the caliper and brake rotor with brake cleaner.

8. Install the new brake pads into the caliper.

9. Reinstall the caliper and wheel.

10. Repeat steps 2-9 for the other wheel.

11. Test your brakes by pumping the brake pedal several times until it feels firm.

12. Take your car for a short test drive to make sure the brakes are working properly.
