According to the SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders) in December 2018, for the first time ever sales of battery-only cars in the UK exceeded 1%.

Nissan announces new LEAF 3.ZERO along with a limited edition LEAF e+ 3.ZERO

Nissan announce a new 62kWh battery will join the 40kWh version in the new model Leaf. The 3.zero e+ Nissan Leaf is a limitied edition range-topping version of the 2019 EV,  featuring more power and a longer real range of up to 220 miles to a charge. Due to be on the roads this summer.

The winner of the Fully Charged Survey prize draw received their EV and charger!

We partnered with the Fully Charged show and Rolec to offer a 1 year free electric vehicle lease and a home charger for one survey participant. Dave the lucky winner has now received his Kia Soul EV and Rolec home charger. He described the EV as ‘truly excellent’ and the whole family were very impressed with the car. We’re told that the Soul EV drove beautifully on it’s first outing and the heated steering wheel was much appreciated on what was a very cold night! The DriveElectric team are looking forward to seeing the video of the vehicle handover soon on the Fully Charged Show.

Ultra Low Emission Zone will start to operate in central London from April

With the aim to help to tackle London’s toxic air, Ultra Low Emission Zone will start to operate in central London from 8th April 2019 operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. To find out if this will impact you or for more information on ULEZ click here.

If you are a London based EV driver we also wrote about some changes to the Congestion Charge Ultra Low Emission Discount earlier this month. The headlines are that PHEVs will be congestion charge exempt until October 2021 and Pure EVs until 2025. The post is here to read in full.
