An additional £2.5 million has been announced by the Transport Secretary for charge points on residential streets. Owning and charging an electric vehicle is set to become more convenient than ever thanks to this additional funding which should provide better access to charging infrastructure for people who don’t have off-street parking.

Peugeot have announced that the new electric version of the 208 will start from £25,050. This new electric vehicle from Peugeot will have a 50kWh battery and has been given an official range of 211 miles WLTP. Overall car sales declined in July, however battery electric vehicles (BEV’s) rose to a record high of 1.4% of the new car market. Still a small percentage, however it is great to see this category increase in popularity each month.

This new premium pure electric MPV people carrier was first shown as a concept vehicle earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show. It offers rapid charging, spacious interior and choice of seating configurations. The EQV has been given an official range of 252 miles WLTP from a full charge, and has a 90kWh lithium ion battery pack mounted under the floor of the vehicle.
