1. Make sure the engine is off and cooled down.
2. Locate the OBD II port under the dashboard, usually near the steering wheel.
3. Connect an OBD II scanner to the port.
4. Turn the key to the "On" position (but do not start the engine).
5. Follow the prompts on the scanner to reset the check engine light.
6. Disconnect the scanner and turn the key to the "Off" position.
7. Start the engine and verify that the check engine light is off.
If the check engine light comes back on after resetting it, there may be an underlying issue with the engine that needs to be diagnosed and repaired.
